Ahmedabad is well known for its textile mills and is often referred as the 'Manchester of the East'. The Hindu kingdom of Karnavati was defeated by the Muslim Sultanate in 1411 A.D. This city is well known for its rich history and its association with Mahatma (Great Soul), also known as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
